American Gardens Clay Pomade

$ 24.00

Using a combination of two past oil-based formulas, we created the American Gardens Clay Pomade. However, this time we’ve worked out a user-friendly experience by creating an aloe-based formula that washes out easily. To top it off, it features a wild orange & oak moss fragrance created with therapeutic grade essential oils.

AVOID THIS ONE

Look, I'm a big fan of Shear Revival products but this one is bottom of the barrel for them. It's impossibly hard to the point that it's tough to even get it out of the jar. Once you do get it out of the jar, your going to spend quite a bit more time smearing it into your hand to break it down. If all of that weren't enough, you can imagine that something this stiff is going to be a pain to work into your hair, spoiler alert, it is. Pick literally any of their other products and you will be happy.

Clay Pomade

This is a great product. I've used it for about a year and a half now. I do not need to use much to get an all-day hold. I like being able to rub my fingers through my hair without losing my style. I especially love the clean ingredients.

Great for medium straight hair

Need something that’s pliable and holds a comb-over for my straight medium length hair that naturally settles to be a bowl cut.
This does it well. The only complaint is that it’s tough to work in and pulls a few hairs out in the process.

Hard to scoop and leaves clay clumps

The product is very dry to the point it’s hard to scoop out of the container. And once you manage to get some out if you rub it between your hands it still doesn’t dissolve completely, leaving clay clumps on your hair and palms!

The Best Shear Revival Product for Medium Length Straight Fine Hair

I have straight fine hair and most products make my hair fall flat or don't last all day because it eventually weighs down my hair. I typically go for clays or matte paste that have kaolin and/or Bentonite in them. Northern Lights was really good, but it was more of a loose relaxed look and my hair would eventually fall as the day progressed. American Gardens has an amazing hold that can really shape and style my hair to how I like it. My hair isn't long nor short, my front pieces of hair go a bit passed my eyes so that gives you perspective of how long it is. Applying was easy, but you definitely need some finesse and experience with clays so you don't pull out your hair. I have read reviews of people saying it was not easy to work with, but I disagree and think it is a really easy/beginner clay to work with but it is all on how you apply it and you will probably need to practice different techniques. Another bonus is that it is not drying even though it is a clay; as a matter of fact it is hydrating as the day progresses and makes my hair feel nice. I have had clays that feel like cement on my head, but I love how American Gardens makes my hair feel natural when I run through it. The scent is good, but not overbearing. I am into collecting fragrances and I appreciate the smell and how it does not interfere with what I am wearing. Overall, I think this is the best Shear Revival product for medium length straight fine hair and it is my favorite from the brand. 10/10
