Crystal Lake Styling Pomade
Crystal Lake is a medium hold, lightweight, waxy cream pomade. Always keeping the hair’s health in mind, each jar is handmade with quality plant-derived ingredients, unlike a lot of water based products on the market which are full of harsh chemicals and can make your hair flaky or dry. Crystal Lake does not harden up, allowing you to restyle all day like a traditional oil based pomade. Added bonus: it washes out with shampoo. Get ready to revive your hair...again and again and again...

I've been using Shear Revival's hair products off and on for a number of years now. My first ever purchase was for Crystal Lake, due to its status as a "classic." The vanilla scent was unique and the product applied easily due to its creamy consistency. However, I found the hold to be severely lacking. Despite building up a few layers of Crystal Lake while styling, it always seemed to absorb into my hair by midday and left my initial style pretty soft and totally deflated.
Fast forward to the introduction of Gray Ghost. Here was a Shear Revival product that could produce lasting volume AND hold! I tried it and was hooked...until I wasn't. After a few jars of Gray Ghost, I started feeling like it was too sticky and had too much hold for me. So, upon hearing that Crystal Lake was reformulated, I decided to give it another shot.
I've only been using it for a few weeks, but this iteration (with the orange scent) is probably the best Crystal Lake yet...at least for me and the way I style my hair. The application is as smooth as ever, and the hold, thankfully, is much improved. It now feels like a true "medium." Crystal Lake maintains its initial performance throughout the day and it isn't absorbed into my hair much, if at all. In fact, despite never fully drying in my hair, I'd say Crystal Lake holds up extremely well...to workouts, moderate wind, finger combing throughout the day, etc. I even think my initial style with Crystal Lake looks better after a couple of hours because it relaxes ever so slightly, allowing some of my hair's natural wave to resurface.
Perhaps I've come to appreciate a less rigid, looser version of my time-tested hair style. Or, maybe this is the best version of Crystal Lake to date. Either way, I finally love this product and will continue to purchase it for many years to come!
Best product around. The only other product I like better is the “WAX” but back to the crystal lake. Iv been using it for over a year now. The only problem I have with it is the smell. It used to be a vanilla(which was amazing) now it’s a blan citrus. I’m sure they had good reason to change it. But I am sick of every natural product I buy and use smelling like orange essential oil.... btw the consistency of the newest crystal lake I got is the best iv had yet! Perfect👌 ! Just smells like oranges... Wish we had a option. Or a limited batch of vanilla I could stock up on 😄
Either way thanks Shear Revival! U guys are the best still 5 star cuz if it was vanilla u earn 6 stars!!
By far the best medium holding pomade I've used. Nothing else I've tried has come close to this product. I've used both the new "Styling Pomade" version and the previous final iteration of the "Water-based Pomade" and although I preferred the scent on the previous one, the new version performs just as well if not better than the previous one! The scent is really nice too and is still one of my favorite smelling products but I did like the old one just a bit more. It also makes my hair feel really healthy and soft. Definitely a go-to product.
I’ve tried lots of pomades for my slickback and this is by far my favorite. I was surprised by the creaminess, but Im so impressed with how well it holds and smells. Great product I’m ordering another jar soon!
I've used a crazy amount of products over the years. This is one of the best I've come across. I've got thick, dark hair that's mostly straight, Most products either don't have enough grip or land too matte for my liking This one strikes the perfect balance between hold and finish. It's got enough tack to keep my hair in place, but it stays soft to the touch. The finish is a natural shine -- not greasy by any means, but not matte, either, kind of a Goldilocks middle-ground. The smell is subtle and mostly vanishes after application, which I prefer. Highly recommend giving this a try. It lives up to the hype!
